A chatroom, soundboard, and shared chaos platform — made for school Chromebooks and internet kids.

Random Rants+ is a browser-based group chat where you can hang out with friends, spam meme sounds, and chill in custom rooms without all the account drama. Built for people who just want to goof off or stay connected without getting deep in Discord servers or whatever else.

It’s kind of like an old-school group chat mixed with a chaotic web app. Not everything makes sense, but that’s part of the fun.

Who it's for:

• Students taking a “break” from schoolwork

• People pretending to do homework but actually chatting

• Friends who want a casual place to chill

• Anyone who misses the weird energy of early web apps

• You and your bro just sending sounds at each other for 10 minutes straight

Features:

• Real-time chat in browser, no install

• Meme soundboard (everyone hears it)

• Custom rooms with Quick Join codes

• Display names, profile pics, and basic account system

• Ownership system to manage your room (or hand it off)

• No public rooms — everything’s private unless you share a link

What makes it different:

• Rooms are unlisted by default

• We don’t save your chats or spy on anything

• You don’t need to log in every time unless you want to

• It works on most school Chromebooks (somehow)

What gets saved (transparency zone):

• Your username, display name, password (use a unique one bro)

• Your profile pic (compressed, not creepy)

• Room settings like permissions and who owns what

• No tracking, no ads, no messages stored

• Stored on secure Supabase buckets — server owner can access it if absolutely needed (like during a security issue)

How it started:

This whole thing started as a janky unsecure chat site, called Gvbvdxx Chat. Literally, anything someone typed got echoed to every other connected browser — no rooms, no accounts, just chaos.
Over time, it got safer, more locked down, and way more fun. Added proper server checks, secure WebSocket stuff, and of course... meme soundboards.
Still got that wild-school-browser energy, just without the security nightmares.

This isn’t some polished corporate platform — it’s a weird little project made for fun, safety, and that “how is this site not blocked?” energy. It might be a little quiet sometimes, but you can always make your own vibe.

Open Source and Built by Me (with help)

Random Rants+ is fully open source — you can check out the code, see how it works, or fork it and make your own weird version.

Yeah, I used some AI (mainly ChatGPT) for bug fixes and optimizations, but I still wrote most of it myself. I’ve been coding this from scratch since the first messy version where every message just echoed to everyone.

Quick heads up:
Some parts of this site — like code and chat text — were helped along by AI (yeah, ChatGPT pitched in with bug fixes and making things smoother). But don’t get it twisted, I still built this whole thing myself. AI just helped make it vibe better for you. So no worries, it’s legit and made with care.
